Dentalzentrum Plus
Dentalzentrum Plus is there for their patients with locations in Berlin Charlottenburg, Schöneberg and Marzahn over 300 days a year. Dentalzentrum Plus in Charlottenburg alone offers 17 modern treatment rooms. This clinic size requires not only compliance with the highest quality standards in instrument reprocessing, but also efficient workflows.
Instrument reprocessing in XXL
We want to take the best possible care of our patients. Therefore it is our aspiration to work hygienically at the highest level and to minimize the time spent in the decontamination room. The system from MELAG has supported us since the opening of our dental clinic. MELAtherm 10 Evolution, MELAseal Pro and Vacuklav 40 B+ Evolution convince with the reprocessing of large quantities of instruments in the shortest possible time.
To ensure that our handpieces and turbines are also ready for the next treatment, we rely on a completely new device concept: Careclave combines a modern autoclave with a reprocessing and lubrication device for dental hollow-body instruments. We can now clean, disinfect and care up to 8 hollow-body instruments in only 16 - 18 minutes.
Careclave offers the flexibility we need on tightly scheduled workdays. In addition to reprocessing and lubricating hollow-body instruments in the Carebox, we use the rear part of the chamber for sterilizing other instruments in just one cycle. In case of an increased sterilization volume, the Careclave is even available as an additional Class B autoclave. With the help of the long holding mount, up to 11 kg of instruments packed in foils or in boxes can be sterilized.
Our conclusion after more than a year with Careclave
For systematic treatment of our patients, we combine all specialists in dentistry under one roof. Since November 2019, this systematic approach has also been reflected in instrument reprocessing at our clinic in Charlottenburg: Careclave combines cleaning, disinfection, lubrication, sterilization and documentation in a single device.
Careclave thus provides the highest standards of infection control and further unique advantages to us:
1. Reduced number of devices in the decontamination room results in lower ongoing costs for maintenance and validation
2. Fast cycle times save the cost-intensive purchase of additional instrument sets
3. Systematic cleaning, oiling and lubrication of chuck systems reduce service costs for repairs of transmission instruments
However, the Careclave scores not only with an innovative device concept, but also with the superior MELAG quality – made in Germany. For this reason, we have decided to equip further locations of Dentalzentrum Plus with Careclave for an optimal hygiene workflow.
Studio dentistico berliner MundArt
We always wanted to create areas for patients that do not correspond to common ideas of a dental practice. Our practice concept was to counteract the usual stress and hectic of a big city and offer a holistic approach to treatment. With the latest technology and stylish treatment rooms, we have realized this idea in 2018 in our dental practice berliner MundArt.
Workflow of the future
Instrument reprocessing in our dental practice also no longer corresponds to standard workflows. Since 2019, we have been using Careclave to protect our patients and instruments. During a test phase, we were able to convince ourselves of the new device concept: The combination of autoclave and washer-disinfector in just one device not only sounds promising, but it is. With the innovative solution from MELAG, the particularly time-consuming decontamination and lubrication processes for dental hollow instruments are finally a thing of the past.
And it's that simple: Immediately after treatment, we load the Carebox with up to 8 transmission instruments or up to 8 ultrasonic scaler tips and prophylaxis handpieces in the unclean area of our reprocessing room. For rapid instrument reprocessing, my practice team simply adapt the Carebox into the door and starts a program: In just 16 minutes, Careclave takes over the reprocessing and optional oiling of the instruments!
After the subsequent visual inspection, not only documentation, approval and labeling are carried out, but also the chuck system care. A special care station is integrated in the door for maintaining the long-term value retention of our precious instruments. This is a function I have never seen in any other decontamination solution before.
The all-rounder from MELAG is also ideally suited to the sterilization of instruments. Either we use Careclave with Carebox and short tray mount as a combination device or with a long tray mount as a practice autoclave. With a load of up to 11 kg, we sterilize our instruments on 8 trays or in four MELAstore Boxes.
Careclave - The all-rounder in the decontamination room
The entire practice team of berliner MundArt agrees: we can rely on Careclave 100% - 7 days a week! The innovative and holistic approach fits perfectly with our practice concept. Cleaning, disinfection, lubrication and sterilization in just one device ensures standard compliant reprocessing, long-term value retention of the transmission instruments and at the same time gives us the most valuable resource in today's world: time that we can no longer spend in the reprocessing room, but with the individual treatment of our patients.
Studio dentistico Lipp & Lutz
Lipp & Lutz dental practice is a major Berlin practice for tooth preservation, preventive care and aesthetics. With six modern treatment rooms and 21 qualified employees, Lipp & Lutz has been following the request of their discerning patients for many years to have a specialist in every important working area of the practice. In order to meet the wishes of their patients and to be able to guarantee a high quality of treatment, the dentists Lipp & Lutz have been relying on Careclave - the specialist in instrument reprocessing - since 2019.
Easy loading, maximum care protection
In a total of six treatment rooms in our practice, we have 10 unwrapped basic sets for non-surgical use. The wrapped surgical instruments as well as the unwrapped dental handpieces and turbines are located in the decontamination room.
Once a treatment has been completed, the assistant brings the instruments used to the decontamination room and prepares them for reprocessing. The loading process of Careclave is super simple and straightforward. We load the Carebox Blue on the unclean side of the decontamination room with up to 8 turbines and dental handpieces and insert it into Careclave. Then we just have to close the door. Careclave automatically recognizes the attached Carebox and starts the appropriate program for the instruments.
In our practice we only use the Care-Therm program, which completely cleans, disinfects and lubricates dental handpieces and turbines in only 18 minutes. It is also practical that the MELAG Care Oil supplies every instrument in the Carebox with the exact amount of oil required. This enables economical consumption and guarantees that our instruments will retain their value for a long time. At least once a week, we also use the ADDcare station integrated in the door to lubricate the instrument heads of the chuck system directly on Careclave.
Once the Care-Therm program is completed we load the hot instruments into the Cooling Box to cool them down to a treatment temperature in only four minutes.
Careclave is our specialist in instrument reprocessing
We have been using Careclave in our practice for over a year to ideally prepare our instruments for daily use.
At the beginning of the field test phase, we weren't quite sure whether Careclave could cope with the high workload of our practice. However, this skepticism has never been confirmed. Due to the very fast cycle times and the diverse loading options, we quickly learned to love Careclave!
Thanks to the modern device concept, which combines the reprocessing workflow of cleaning & disinfection, lubrication, sterilization and documentation in just one product, we benefit from many valuable advantages. We have more space in the decontamination room and, thanks to the short and efficient reprocessing cycles, save a lot of time and money.
With Careclave, we meet the wishes of our discerning patients to have a specialist in every important area. Careclave is our specialist in instrument reprocessing and gives our patients the secure feeling that they are always in best hands.
Dentisti Feuerlandhöfe
In order to meet highest quality standards in instrument reprocessing, our practice consists of 19 employees and 8 fully equiped treatment rooms. To ensure that every patient receives the best possible care in every area of dentistry, each of us has different treatment specialties. Thanks to our specialists, but also to the modern technical equipment and high-quality instruments in our practice, we are able to provide safe, gentle and successful treatments at all times.
To ensure this high quality standards in our daily work over the long term, we have relied on Careclave since 2019.
Instrument protection á la Careclave
Each of our treatment room is equipped with sets of handpieces from W&H and NSK. In order to prevent wear and soiling of our valuable instruments and consequently expensive investments in new instruments, we rely on highly defined and structured workflows, short reprocessing cycles and a reliable and long-term value retention of our transmission instruments. All this is possible with Careclave.
After a treatment on the patient, the used and contaminated instruments are brought into the decontamination room in a closed container. Once there, we start loading the Carebox with up to 8 handpieces and turbines. Thanks to the innovative dosing system of Careclave, precise reprocessing is ensured for each instrument – even if unneeded adapters remain free in the Carebox.
We were particularly impressed by the loading concept: Careclave combines cleaning & disinfection, lubrication and sterilization in one single device. If we need to reprocess further instruments in addition to cleaning and lubricating our hollow-body instruments in the Carebox, we use the rear part of the chamber for sterilizing them in just one cycle. To do this, we only need to hang the loaded Carebox in the door and place the remaining instruments on the short tray mounts – a process that could not be simpler.
After only 18 minutes, the transmission instruments are cleaned, disinfected and lubricated which is the most important prerequisite for a long lifespan and a reliable value retention of the instruments. And even expensive repairs of our instrument heads are no longer an issue for us: Every Friday we carry out the chuck system care directly on the device according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Therefore a special care station is integrated in the door of Careclave where we can easily lubricate the handpieces by using a fully-synthetic oil. At the same time Careclave documents the entire reprocessing procedure with all important process parameters in order to ensure compliant and complete traceability.
If the instruments are needed for the next patient immediately after reprocessing, we additionally use our Cooling box by simply inserting the Carebox lid into it. In only 4 minutes the Cooling box guarantees cool instruments ready to use for the next treatment.
Over a year with Careclave, over a year of carefree instrument reprocessing
The combination of a modern autoclave with a reprocessing and lubrication device for dental hollow body instruments not only saves time and space in the decontamination room, but also ensures the protection of our patients and instruments. The systematic cleaning, oiling and lubrication of our chuck systems guarantee reliable functioning and a long-term value retention.
There are frequent reports on social media about the high service costs for repairs of inadequately lubricated handpieces and turbines. Fortunately, in the entire time we have been reprocessing our instruments with Careclave, we have not had a single lubrication-related failure of an instrument.
As much as we rely on our instruments, we also rely on the new device concept from MELAG: Careclave convinces us again and again in our everyday work with its efficient funcionalities and the excellent MELAG quality.
Dentisti Dr. Kesler and Dr. Verdenhalven
In the middle of Berlin-Reinickendorf, the practice of the dentists Dr. Kesler and Dr. Verdenhalven extends over 2 floors in a classic single-family house. Consisting of three dentists, seven assistants and three prophylaxis assistants, the team provides best dental treatments and offers their patients a wide range of dental care in the various treatment and prophylaxis rooms.
Small but nice - with Careclave everything runs smoothly even when space is limited
In our daily practice, we usually prepare our instruments twice a day - at the change of a shift and at the end of the working day. Looking at our reprocessing room that measures only 5 square meters, not much else fits into this room, besides our Careclave, the Cooling Box, a MELAseal 100 and our label printer. With Careclave, however, we can still provide a safe, reliable and efficient instrument reprocessing, even in the small amount of space we have. Therefore we always follow a specific decontamination procedure and divide up the tasks in the team.
In the beginning, we collect all the instruments in the treatment rooms and transport them to the reprocessing room. There we pre-clean them manually and disinfect them in a thermal bath. Afterwards critically classified instruments that need to be sterilized are packed into a sterile pack using our MELAseal 100 and are placed on tray mounts for Careclave. With the Vacuclave program we start sterilizing them in our 4-in-1 Solution. Since all reprocessing steps are completely documented by Careclave and automatically saved on a CF card, we don’t need any additional documentation software. Once the sterilization is completed, we remove the reprocessed instruments, label them appropriately and finally return them to the respective treatment rooms.
The Care-S Program
With the Care-S program of Careclave, we also have the possibility to carry out a reliable cleaning, disinfection and lubrication of our transmission instruments. Depending on patient volume, we usually load the Carebox with 2 up to 6 handpieces by simply twisting the instruments onto the respective adapters until they lock into place. Following we place the Carebox onto the door of the device and start the program - a very simple process. Once the program is completed, we insert the Carebox in the Coolingbox to let the instruments cool down. After only 4 minutes, the handpieces are available again - cleaned, disinfected and well cared for use. Once a week we also do a intensive care for a long-term value retention of our instruments. For that we use the chuck lubrication station named ADDcare directly integrated into Careclave. The weekly use protects our instruments from corrosion and wear and thus also enables us to reduce repair costs in the long term.
Summarized in one sentence: we are very happy to have Careclave as a specialist for instrument reprocessing in our team and we don't want to do without it ever again!
